IDFPR Releases License Application Checklist

Nov 28, 2023

Over the past several months, individuals applying for licenses across all professions through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) have experienced significant delays in processing their applications.

ISDS has been working diligently with IDFPR to address the issues in licensing delays. Our efforts include meeting directly with the Secretary of IDFPR, speaking with lawmakers, and testifying at a legislative hearing to communicate our concerns about these delays and their impact on the dental community. ISDS remains committed to addressing these issues.

During this recent legislative veto session, ISDS supported legislation that would allow IDFPR to be able to obtain a new computer system in an expedited manner. This new computer system is a crucial step in mitigating these delays. ISDS is hopeful that the department will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the licensing processes, ultimately benefiting both our dental professionals and the patients they serve. This legislation passed both legislative chambers and now awaits the Governor’s signature.

While we continue to work with IDFPR to address the issues causing the delays, IDFPR has released an application checklist. The checklist is designed to help applicants have the information they need before applying. Click here for a PDF version of the checklist. A video for the checklist can be found here.

ISDS has committed to and continues to address these issues for our members.
