Welcome to the G.V. Black District Dental Society!

The G. V. Black District Dental Society is a component (local dental society) of the Illinois State Dental Society and American Dental Association and has been serving the profession of dentistry since 1929.

The Society was named in honor of Dr. Greene Vardiman Black, who was born in 1836 in central Illinois and is known as "one of the founders of modern dentistry". Today, the Society has 155 members who are located in Sangamon, Logan, Menard, Cass, Morgan, Scott and Montgomery counties and a portion of Macoupin County within Illinois. Members includes general practitioners as well as dental specialists.

Seeking Proposals! Illinois Oral Health Conference: July 24-25, 2024

The Illinois Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA), in partnership with IFLOSS, will host the Illinois Oral Health Conference on July 24-25, 2024, at the BOS Center in Springfield, IL. The conference planning committee is seeking proposals for the educational training sessions.  
All submissions are due by March 1, 2024.

Presenter & Presentation Requirements

All presenters attending the Conference must complete the conference speaker registration form (click this link and follow the instructions.)

Proposed session content must be appropriate for and tailored to meet IPHCA and IFLOSS conference goals and objectives and the target audience.

Proposed session(s) must fit within a minimum of one of the overarching topics established by the conference planning committee.

  • Workforce
  • Quality Improvement & Measurement
  • Billing
  • Integration – Dental and Primary Health
  • Innovations in Dentistry
  • Advocacy
  • Federal Reimbursement Rates

All presenters must refrain from selling their organization and/or specific products; time should be used to demonstrate the main topic points.

Proposed session(s) should be designed to:

  • Foster sharing skills, knowledge and/or experience in research or learning practice areas.
  • Presentations that seek to provide a forecast on future healthcare topics or have a “best practices” focus are encouraged.
  • Sessions will be one hour in length, with 45 minutes for the presentation and 15 minutes for discussion and Q&A.
  • No more than three (3) presenters per session will be allowed.

Presenters wishing to attend the conference, beyond the session(s) in which they are presenting, will receive a $50 discount off the registration fee. The registration fee covers all IPHCA-sponsored events and meals during the period you are registered for. Those speakers who are not registered will not be able to attend other conference sessions or meals.
